Jury Membership

2008 Jury Members

The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan is committed to the selection of a Jury Committee that is representative of the diversity and professional expertise of the local arts community.

There will be a total of 9 Jury members, one Jury member from each of the seven arts areas covered by these awards, a Chair, and one member at large. 

The Chair of the Jury Committee will be selected from the Okanagan Arts Awards Committee.

Jury members will be selected by the Okanagan Arts Awards Committee and the Jury Chair.

Jury members must be practitioners, critics, educators or lay specialists in arts disciplines who have broad understanding of the community’s various arts sectors, and bring aesthetic and historical knowledge to the jury deliberations.

Efforts will be made to represent the diversity of the community in terms of gender and ethnicity.

Jury members will serve a one-year term. When five years have passed, they may serve again. The exception to this is the Chair.

The Chair will select replacements on the Jury Committee if necessary because of an absence due to illness or conflict of interest.

Nominees and recipients will be notified by February the 1^st regarding the Celebration Event in the form of a letter signed by the Jury Committee Chair.  The outcome of the Jury selection will not be given at this time.  Announcements of the recipients will be made at the Celebration Event.
