Arts Categories
The Arts Awards recognize all forms of the Arts:
Music: singing, song writing, performance
Theatre: producer, director, actor, company
Dance: performance, choreographers, companies
Creative Writing: fiction, non-fiction, news, webblogs
Visual Arts: all forms and types of art
Design: pottery, fashion, jewelry, furniture
Media: film, video, web, animation
Arts Educator: teachers in public or private context
Lifetime: supporter or artist who has dedicated a lifetime to the arts, or has made a significant contribution to the arts.
The award recipients could be individuals, businesses, or groups.
The recipient(s) of an award will receive:
- a framed certificate
- a trophy/statue that will be of a different design each year
- a monetary award, the amount to be determined annually
- support gifts as appropriate for each art discipline, from the list in Appendix C
It is preferred that a minimum of 3 nominations be considered per category. If there are fewer than 3 nominations in any category, it is the prerogative of the Jury to issue an award or not in that category.
An award will not necessarily be given out in every category. The Jury Committee reserves the right to not award a particular award based on its judgment of the nomination applications.
